President's Letter
August 2022
Dear Bengal Families,
On behalf of the entire Beacon Park PTA Executive Board, I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year at Beacon Park School! My name is Erin Pauls, and I have the honor and privilege of serving as your PTA President this year. Whether this is your first year as a Bengal parent or you are a long-standing member of this family, we are so glad that you are here!
Apart from the 2020-2021 school year, I have been a Bengal parent since the school opened in 2016. I served on the PTA board as Executive Vice President during its inaugural year and have since supported and volunteered at the school in a variety of roles, including Fall Festival Chair, Game Night Chair, Room Parent Coordinator, Guy Stuff Chair, Newsletter Chair, and Room Parent. I have two sons: a 5th grader here at Beacon and a 9th grader at Portola High School. Irvine has been my home since my college days at UCI, and I have loved being a part of this amazing community ever since.
I am thrilled to have this opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the previous Executive Board, whose thoughtful and creative leadership throughout the pandemic years was truly inspiring. With this year being the first in many that parents can have a strong physical presence on campus, I am excited about what’s in store as we continue to build and shape our Bengal community face-to-face.
Beacon Park PTA's mission is to implement a wide range of programs, resources, and support that benefit our entire Bengal community. We aim to positively impact every student by promoting parent and staff engagement, advocating for student well-being, and nurturing an environment of inclusiveness and diversity. We are committed to providing students, parents, and school staff with a variety of enrichment and engagement opportunities like BrainStorm STEM classes, Fall Festival, dine-outs, movie nights, and many more fun programs, which are 100% funded and/or supported by PTA, and can only happen with your support!
Studies have shown time and time again that kids do better when their parents participate at their school. There are so many opportunities available for you at Beacon Park to get involved and make a measurable difference in your child’s life, including:
- Joining PTA – Make your voice heard, connect with other parents, stay informed, and help shape your child’s education! No experience is necessary, and volunteering is optional (but encouraged).
- Making a financial contribution – Every dollar counts in shaping the many offerings PTA provides for your child. Donations are tax-deductible, and no amount is too small!
- Volunteering – I know from experience that volunteering at Beacon Park is FUN! Participating in my sons’ classrooms and events, meeting their friends, and getting to know their teachers has been incredibly rewarding to me over the years. I have witnessed first-hand how much kids love seeing their parents on campus! Whether you have 30 minutes or a few hours, know that your time, your ideas, your talents, and your voice are truly needed and appreciated.
Parents, I very much look forward to working with and seeing you on campus and at events this school year. Please never hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or have any ideas. Thank you so much for your support!
Go Bengals!
Sincerely,
Beacon Park PTA President 2022-2023
